san jose californiaAt Living Light Culinary Institute, our students come from literally all over the world. In fact, our international students often outnumber those from within the United States. This session, the formula is reversed – our United States students outnumber foreign students for a change! In fact, we have more from California than we’ve had in a long while, along with other places in the U.S., like Reno, Nevada, New York City, Miami and Palm Beach Florida, Bloomington, Indiana, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Lisle, Indiana, and Rockwall and Austin, Texas.

Canada is represented by an aspiring raw food chef from Brossard, Quebec, and we’re happy to welcome two students from Scotland, one from Switzerland, and one from Puerto Rico. We never know quite what kind of mix to expect, which is one of the things that makes meeting our new students exciting and entertaining.international image

This session’s California contingent includes some enthusiastic recruits from Cameron Park, Morgan Hill, Wawona, Chico, San Francisco, Pismo Beach, and San Jose. No matter where our students come from, we’re always sure that they are in for an amazing experience – they tell us so! It is always wonderful to see the amazing progress they make while they are here at the school. Right now they are in Essentials of Raw Living Foods, learning how to try make the recipes they saw the professionals demo over the weekend!

Our students not only enjoy “learning by doing”, they also experience how important it is to  work in teams, collaborate, make decisions, and follow directions. What they learn through our time-tested curriculum adds up to a well educated raw food chef – someone who is willing to  embark on a significant life journey and prepare to step forward into a new way of being. So many of our students tell us that the Living Light experience is so much more than they expected when they showed up on our doorstep!

Whether they’ve had a health challenge, want to learn more about maintaining personal and family health, or they are focused on creating a new career in raw foods, they are a very bright, energetic, and inspiring group of people. Hearing their stories sometimes brings tears to our eyes – they are that amazing!
