Science I Online was developed and is taught by Drs. Rick and Karin Dina, D.C. of Raw Food Education, who are well known for their ability to make complex scientific concepts entertaining and easily understandable for the non-scientific person, as well as helping create greater clarity, depth, and perspective for those who do have a science or nutrition background. Collectively, Drs. Rick and Karin have 50 years of personal experience successfully implementing a raw and living food lifestyle in the real world.

Science of Raw Food Nutrition I has been offered at Living Light since January of 2007 and has consistently received rave reviews! By popular demand, we are now offering this class online so you can learn in the comfort of your own home and on your own schedule. You’ll follow along with the power point presentations, just like you are in class with us! Best of all, by taking this course online, you can watch each topic as many times as you like, so each time the valuable information provided sinks in at a deeper and deeper level, giving you a greater foundation in raw food nutrition and keeping you on track for many years to come.

The Science I Online class is avocational

This course cannot be considered a prerequisite for certification. Students who subsequently choose to enroll in culinary or nutritional certification courses must take (or re-take) this class in person at Living Light Culinary Institute in Fort Bragg.

Science I Online students will be offered the following option: The full amount paid for the Science I Online course will be applied towards any subsequent science or culinary courses leading to certification when you register within nine months of completing Science I Online, including the option of taking Science I again in person.

Prerequisite: None.

Additional Information: Science of Raw Food Nutrition I (either online or in person) is a prerequisite for the all of the advanced classes in the Science of Raw Food Nutrition series, including Science of Raw Food Nutrition II, Benefits of Raw Food Nutrition Educator Certification course, Science of Raw Food Nutrition III, and the Advanced Educator Certification course. (These advanced classes are offered only in person at Living Light in Northern California.)

Certifications: This course is one of the required courses for eight culinary and nutrition educator certification programs: Raw Culinary Arts Associate Chef and Instructor Training Certification™, Pastry Arts-Unbaked Certification, Gourmet Raw Food Chef Certification™, Raw Culinary Arts Professional Chef Certification™, Benefits of Raw Food Nutrition Health Educator Certification™, and Advanced Raw Food Nutrition Health Educator Certification™.
