Would you like to learn what it takes to run the kitchen during one of our Raw Food Chef and Instructor trainings? Would you enjoy working in the kitchen with several of the world’s top raw food chefs and instructors? Are you a humble, loving, good-natured individual, who appreciates the Zen of simple yet important kitchen tasks? Do you enjoy working in a community of loving beings who are passionate about raw culinary arts? Can you take a week, two, three, or up to six weeks to spend in pursuit of an opportunity that could change your life for the better?
If your answer to all these questions is YES – you are invited to apply now. Kitchen Angels may attend two demos or lectures each day, when available (some days do not include culinary demos). Angels do not receive all the student materials, but do receive the recipes from the training segment they participate in. They also do not receive certification, since they learn-by-doing, rather than participate in the full student training program.
Angels are responsible for their own travel expenses and housing. In addition, there is a fee of $20.00 tuition per day for the angel program, which includes participation in the available classes, and organic raw vegan cuisine. Like everything in life, the value of this opportunity is directly proportionate to the attitude you bring with you.
This position is for those who love to participate in “making it all happen” in the kitchen. They must be able to lift boxes of fruits and vegetables, wash produce, keep the floors clean, the refrigerators organized, the kitchen tidy, and help with other tasks which may include inventory and receiving food deliveries. Kitchen Angels often arrive in the kitchen before 8:00 AM to help with breakfast and stay until 6:00 PM to help clean the kitchen (our students help, too).
Like all Living Light staff members, Angels have scheduled breaks and a lunch period during the day. And, like staff members Angels help with whatever needs to be done to support our culinary program. Yes, there is time to enjoy your stay in Northern California, but this is not a vacation – it’s important to know that you will be an active and energetic participant in our kitchen. We’d love to welcome you to learn from the best – we’ve been making healthy living delicious since 1998.
